Julie has worked in the sailing industry for the last 15 years. After graduating from college, she worked for a manufacturer of roller furling and propellers. At, CDI, Julie worked with boatbuilders, riggers and sailmakers around the country.
Julie got her 50 ton US Coast Guard license with a sailing endorsement in 1999. She put the license to work as a captain of commuter ferries in Boston Harbor and delivering boats throughout the Northeast and Caribbean.
Julie has recently completed the Chapman School of Seamanship's Yacht and Small Craft Surveying program and has Surveyor Associate status with SAMS (Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors). She is also Standards Certified through ABYC (American Boat and Yacht Council). Julie plans to continue education through these and other professional orgainizations.
Julie has raced on both coasts and is active in the Marblehead J/24 fleet. She is on the advisory Board of Sail Salem. She is currently employed at Manchester Marine as a Rigger and Project Manager.
